The Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colón is the training division of Buenos Aires' Teatro Colón, one of the leading opera houses in the Americas. It has trained artists for the world's opera and ballet stages for decades. For the eleventh year, a group of talented young singers—Florencia Burgardt (soprano), Rocío Fernández (soprano), Elizabeth Guerrero (soprano), Lucas Arrieta (tenor), Rodrigo Olmedo (tenor), winners of the 12th Concurso Alejandro Cordero—will join Music of the Americas for an evening of opera favorites, led by pianist Marcelo Ayub. From the tragic to the comedic, the lyrical to the light, these rising stars bring a dynamism and intimate passion all their own to the New York stage.

The evening's music will be taken from opera's most memorable moments including the following selections:

"Ragion nell'alma siete" Il Mondo della Luna (Haydn): Elizabeth Guerrero
"Fra gli amplessi" Così Fan Tutte (Mozart): Florencia Burgardt; Rodrigo Olmedo
"Pleurez, pleurez mes yeux" Le Cid (Massenet): Rocío Fernández
