Overview

Music of the Americas continues its online video series En Casa  (At Home), featuring original daily performances with musicians from around the Americas, and Recuerdos (Memories), weekly releases of memorable past performances at the Americas Society, some for the first time.

Follow Music of the Americas on  Instagram,  YouTube,  Facebook, and Twitter  to watch and receive notifications of all the performances. We will also be publishing weekly calendars here on our website, including all the videos, so you can catch up on any performances you might have missed.

Last month, we featured a solo performance by Argentinean bassist Pablo Aslan. This week, Aslan is the first guest curator of our En Casa series. We asked him to pick five artists and invite them to record one piece, and perhaps join them in a virtual duo. He chose five wonderful countrymen and women, who sent their videos from Buenos Aires and Cordoba.

Gabriel Senanes, composer, guitarist, singer, and cultural administrator, sent us the premiere recording of his latest collaboration with Victor Heredia: “Zamba soñada,” a song to an uncertainly remembered love. In addition to his newest En Casa video, you can enjoy Senanes’ recent video “Lalo cura la locura”, his homage to Lalo Schifrin, which was performed at Symphony Space earlier this year.
