Overview

Admission to this event is FREE.

Join the AS/COA Young Professionals of the Americas for a viewing and cocktail reception around the powerful images captured by Brazilian photographer Eliseu Cavalcante.

In July 2013, Cavalcante visited the Fazenda Esperança immediately after the Terena tribe had taken over the land from ranchers. While the area was closed at the time to non-indigenous people, Cavalcante developed a relationship with the community, and was granted permission to stay and to take photos. The images reveal the lives of the people who live there: a mix of hope and spirituality juxtaposed with the constant threat of losing their land once again.
