Overview

Council of the Americas will hold a private meeting with Antonio Barbalho, head of energy and extractives for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) at the World Bank.

Barbalho will discuss the bank’s agenda for energy, resources, and development in the region. As practice manager for LAC, Barbalho leads the World Bank’s energy sector engagements, including regulatory reforms, disruptive technologies, and new financing architecture.

He will cover the World Bank’s priorities for natural gas initiatives in the Americas, energy transitions in the hemisphere, public-private financing arrangements to de-risk energy investments, and insights into the bank’s outlook for the reconstruction of Venezuela. Please join this meeting with an important executive on energy issues from the multilateral development community.
