Council of the Americas will hold a private meeting to discuss the U.S. sanctions on Venezuela’s energy trade with Tarek Fahmy, acting director, office of sanctions policy and implementation, U.S. Department of State.

Fahmy leads the State Department’s participation in the inter-agency process to designate individuals and entities for sanctions. He is a key actor in the issuance of sanctions programs on Venezuela, Iran, Russia, and North Korea.

As an expert on the technical components of U.S. sanctions, Fahmy will provide a comprehensive overview of the sanctions program on Venezuela and dissect the specifics of how they are applied and administered. This is an excellent opportunity to get answers to the complex and detailed elements of Venezuela sanctions.
