Overview

Council of the Americas convened a high-level dialogue with Mexico's Secretary of Economy Marcelo Ebrard and Secretary of Finance Edgar Amador Zamora to discuss Mexico's economic priorities, investment agenda, and opportunities to strengthen the country's business environment at a pivotal moment for North America.

The discussion took place in the context of the USMCA review process and focused on Mexico’s strategy to strengthen investment, competitiveness, and regional economic integration. The secretaries also shared details on President Claudia Sheinbaum’s recently announced package of immediate investment measures under Plan México.

The roundtable provided COA member companies with an opportunity to engage directly with the cabinet officials on the opportunities and challenges shaping Mexico’s business environment and on ways to strengthen public-private collaboration in support of investment and growth.

The dialogue forms part of COA’s continued engagement with key stakeholders in Mexico and its broader work to advance constructive discussion on the country’s economic and business priorities.
