Fifteen years ago, the Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez founded Sinfonía por el Perú, a social organization that has transformed the lives of more than 35,000 children and young people growing up in contexts of high risk and vulnerability. Through free music education, they gain access to a safe space that promotes emotional well-being, the development of personal and social skills, and the construction of positive and sustainable life projects. Above all, they learn to believe in themselves and to dream of a better future.

Join Americas Society and Young Professionals of the Americas for a conversation between Flórez and Music of the Americas Director Sebastián Zubieta about the work of Sinfonía por el Perú. Following the discussion, there will be a networking reception for AS and YPA members and special guests.

Note: Flórez will not be performing at this event, but you can catch his recital at Carnegie Hall on February 5 as part of their Great Singers I series.
