Council of the Americas will hold an off-the-record discussion with Carlos Fernández Valdovinos, governor of the Central Bank of Paraguay. He will discuss the Paraguayan economy and prospects for the year ahead.
Prior to his current assignment, he served as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) resident representative for Brazil and Bolivia, after covering the departments of Africa, Europe, and the Western Hemisphere as senior economist at the IMF. He also served as senior economist for Argentina at the World Bank until 2006, after his work as chief economist of the Central Bank of Paraguay from 2001 to 2004.
