    Please join the Americas Society and Council of the Americas for a discussion on the upcoming visit of Pope Francis to Brazil. This symbolic visit for World Youth Day will be the first Latin American pope's first trip to Latin America since he became head of the Church.

    Our discussion will focus on the broader implications of the Pope’s visit, as well as the current state of the Catholic Church as an institution in Latin America given the economic and social changes underway across the region.
