María Victoria Murillo

Professor of Political Science and International Affairs, Columbia University

María Victoria Murillo is a professor of political science and international and public affairs. Her research on distributive politics in Latin America has covered labor politics and labor regulations, public utility reform, education reform, and economic policy more generally. Her work on political parties analyzes both their coalitional and policy implications as well as their linkages with voters in new democracies.

Mauro Roca

Senior Economist, Goldman Sachs

Mauro Roca is a senior Latin American economist at Goldman Sachs. Before joining Goldman Sachs, Roca was a senior emerging markets strategist and economist at Deutsche Bank and held similar positions at Barclays Capital and Lehman Brothers. Prior to that, he was an economist at the International Monetary Fund and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and a financial analyst at the Central Bank of Argentina. Currently, he is also a professor of economics at Columbia University. Roca holds a PhD (with distinction) and a MPhil.

Juan Cruz Díaz

Special Advisor, Americas Society/Council of the Americas and Managing Director, Cefeidas Group

Juan Cruz Díaz is special advisor to the president and CEO at the Americas Society/Council of the Americas (AS/COA). He is managing director at Cefeidas Group. He is also co-director of the Corporate Governance Program at the Universidad de San Andrés. Before founding Cefeidas Group, he was director of public policy programs at AS/COA. He has worked as a consultant for the Organization of American States (OAS) and regularly consults for the International Finance Corporation and the World Bank.
