AS/COA and Chile’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Finance will host the eleventh annual Latin American Cities Conference in Santiago on April 28. Speakers from the private and public sectors will address Chile's economic forecast at the end of the commodities super cycle, prospects for growth across a variety of sectors, and the country's strategic alliances with regional and global trade partners. Please join us as we explore the challenges and opportunities facing Chile within a global context.

Principal, Asesorías KCB, Ltda.
Kathleen Barclay is the principal of Asesorías KCB Ltda., and also serves as chairman of the board of the American Chamber of Commerce in Chile (AmCham Chile). She is a member of the boards of directors of Bicecorp, Banco Bice, Geomar S.A., and Austral Capital, in addition to the board of Banco Caja Social in Bogotá, Colombia.
Chief Advisor, External Affairs for Asia Pacific and Latin America, Rio Tinto
Judy Brown is chief advisor on external affairs for Asia Pacific and Latin America at Rio Tinto. In this role, she leads a team that develops and manages external affairs strategies to support Rio Tinto’s commercial goals in the regions. Prior to this role, Brown was the chief advisor on stakeholder engagement for the Rio Tinto Group. In 2004, she became head of Rio Tinto Minerals’ Government Affairs and Communities team where she directed political strategy and policy development at the local and national levels in the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
General Country Manager for Microsoft Chile
Oliver Flögel has been the general country manager for Microsoft Chile since 2014. He is also a founding partner of IS Capital, a fund focused on venture capital investing in innovation and business management. Flögel was executive secretary of digital development for the Chilean government during the Sebastián Piñera administration and was responsible for the digital agenda. Previously, he was general manager of Telefónica in Chile where he worked for 16 years and had responsibilities in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Spain.
CEO, Cervecerías Unidas
Patricio Jottar has been the CEO of Cervecerías Unidas (CCU) since 1998. In addition to his responsibilities at CCU, he sits on the boards of several CCU subsidiaries and has been the director of Fundación Teletón since 2010. Previously, Jottar worked at Grupo Santander where he was instrumental in creating and leading Santander's life insurance company. He later moved to Mexico to direct Santander's life insurance operations there until moving back to Chile to become the general manager of Bansander AFP.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chile
Heraldo Muñoz is the minister of foreign affairs of Chile. Before assuming his current responsibilities in March 2014, he was assistant secretary general of the United Nations (UN) as well as assistant administrator and regional director for Latin America and the Caribbean for the United Nations Development Programme from May 2010 to February 2014. Muñoz served as ambassador-permanent representative of Chile to the UN from 2003 to 2010.
President and CEO, Americas Society/Council of the Americas
Susan Segal was elected president and CEO of the Americas Society and Council of the Americas in August 2003 after working in the private sector with Latin America and other emerging markets for over 30 years. A passionate supporter of Latin America, she joined the organizations to implement a new strategic plan to renew and return the Society and Council to their historic position. Prior to her current position, she was a founding partner of her own investment and advisory group focused primarily on Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic sector.
Minister of Finance of Chile
Rodrigo Valdés is the minister of finance of Chile. Previously, he was chairman of the Board of Directors and of the Executive Committee of BancoEstado. Valdés worked as chief economist for the Andean Region and Argentina at BTG Pactual investment bank from 2013 to 2014. He also worked at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as deputy director of the European Department and the Americas Department from 2009 to 2012, where he was also head of Mission for the United States.
Governor of the Central Bank of Chile
Rodrigo Vergara has been the governor of the Central Bank of Chile since December 2011 and was appointed as a member of the Board of the Central Bank of Chile in December 2009 for a ten-year term. Before his position at the Central Bank, he was a professor of economics at the Catholic University of Chile, worked as an economic consultant, and sat on the board of several companies. In 1995, Vergara became the coordinator of the Macroeconomics Department at the Center for Public Studies, an independent Chilean think tank.
