U.S. Pressure on Huawei Reaches New Heights in Panama

The Trump administration is embracing confrontation in Central America to counter the Chinese telecommunications giant.

PANAMA CITY—A month ago, the U.S. Embassy in Panama made a rare announcement: The U.S. government, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security, would replace Huawei telecommunications equipment at 13 sites across the country with U.S. technology.
