COA Brings Together Members and Chilean Officials in Santiago and Washington

The sessions, which included a meeting between President José Antonio Kast and AS/COA President Susan Segal, focused on opportunities for investors.

Santiago, Chile, June 18, 2026— Council of the Americas leaders and representatives from member companies met this week in Washington and Santiago with Chilean officials to discuss the country's evolving investment opportunities and explore avenues for deeper engagement and collaboration.

"We are bringing the public and private sectors together to focus on the most challenging and important issues of the day", said AS/COA's President and CEO Susan Segal. "This is our mission, and this week we clearly demonstrated that value of collaboration in advancing shared priorities and strengthening partnerships across our region."

COA kicked off this series of events on Tuesday, June 16, when Chile's President José Antonio Kast met privately with Segal in the president's office at the Palacio de la Moneda in Santiago, Chile. They spoke about his administration's economic agenda, the regional outlook, and the emerging opportunities for investors in this evolving landscape.

That same evening, COA's Washington office hosted a welcome reception for the new Chilean Ambassador to the U.S. Andrés Ergas-Heymann.

At the University Club of Washington, DC, COA members and COA Vice President Kevin Sullivan joined Chilean and regional leaders for conversations on current developments in the South American country, relations between the United States and the region, and opportunities for engagement. The reception was attended by guests representing the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Department of State, in addition to the ambassadors of Peru, Brazil, and Colombia to the United States.

"At the Council of the Americas we look forward to working very closely with Ambassador Ergas-Heymann and his colleagues, as well as their U.S. government counterparts, to highlight and facilitate opportunities for investment in this new era for Chile," said Sullivan at the reception. "Council members see Chile as a place where they can confidently make long-term strategic investments, support the country's economic development, and achieve very attractive rates of return."
