Americas Society/Council of the Americas to Host Conference on Investment Opportunities in Ecuador

New York, May 29, 2018Americas Society/Council of the Americas (AS/COA), the leading organization for the promotion of economic and social development in the Western Hemisphere, will host the conference Investing in Ecuador’s Future on Wednesday, May 30 at 11:00 at the Swisshotel in Quito. The conference, the first to be hosted by AS/COA in Ecuador in close to a decade, is organized in partnership with the government of Ecuador and will bring together top government officials and private-sector leaders to discuss investment opportunities under the year-old administration of President Moreno. This event will be live webcast.

“We are delighted to support Ecuador in its strategy to attract new investment and promote regional cooperation and integration,” said Americas Society/Council of the Americas (AS/COA) President and CEO Susan Segal. “I am convinced that the private sector, in partnership with the public sector, will play an important role in helping the country consolidate its project of economic growth with social inclusion.”

The Investing in Ecuador’s Future conference will feature President Lenín Moreno as well as Ministers of Trade, Pablo Campana; Finance, Richard Martínez; Hydrocarbons, Carlos Pérez; and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rolando Suárez. Private sector leaders that will gather to examine opportunities for investment in Ecuador include Monica Contreras, Head of Andean Region, PepsiCo; Martin Eurnekian, CEO, CASA; Gaby Gallardo, General Manager, Microsoft Latam South; Alvaro Jaramillo, Country Officer Colombia & Latin America North Region Head, Citi; Javier Robalino Orellana, Partner, FERRERE; Carlos Sarmiento, Geomarket Manager of Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, Schlumberger; Patricio Alarcón, President, Cámara de Comercio de Quito; and Susan Segal, President and CEO, Americas Society/Council of the Americas.
