2014 Latin American Cities Conferences – Guatemala: Regional Leadership

AS/COA's first Guatemala conference will analyze the country's development and subsequent role in regional integration, with a focus on the economy, security, and investment.

Nueva York, August 5, 2014—With GDP growth of 3.5 percent last year and policies that make it easier to establish and run businesses, Guatemala is sparking interest in the international community. Over the past decade, foreign direct investment to the country has grown by around 376 percent. In an increasingly globalized world, Guatemala aims to be at the center of regional integration and leadership while taking significant steps toward economic and social development, furthering the well-being of its citizens.
