Video: NJ's Chris Christie on a U.S. View of Western Hemisphere Integration

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie had a frank conversation about U.S. policy towards the region with AS/COA President and CEO Susan Segal during the 45th Annual Washington Conference of the Americas. The governor talked about his recent trips to Mexico and Canada and said the United States should not think of its neighbors as an "afterthought." He spoke about New Jersey's trade ties with Mexico, immigration, and recent policy decisions such as the Keystone XL pipeline and thawing relations with Cuba. When it comes to shifting Cuba ties, Christie said he doesn't "think we [the United States] should be normalizing relations or taking people off the terrorism watch list who continue to harbor terrorists in this world."
