Gregory Elacqua

Gregory Elacqua is the director of the Public Policy Institute at the School of Economics at the Universidad Diego Portales in Santiago, Chile. Previously, he was the senior advisor to the Minister of Education in Chile between 2003 and 2006, and also was an advisor to a member of the Education Committee in the Chilean Senate. Additionally, Elacqua has consulted with UNESCO, the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and a number of foundations and national governments on education policy. He is currently a member of the PISA Questionnaire Expert Group at the OECD. His work on education policy has been covered in the Chilean print and broadcast media and he has given talks to a wide variety of audiences including academics, policymakers, business leaders, unions, educators, and parents. He holds a PhD in politics and public policy from Princeton University.
