U.S. Ambassador to Chile

Brandon Judd was nominated by President Donald J. Trump and confirmed by the United States Senate on October 7, 2025, to serve as U.S. ambassador to the Republic of Chile. Ambassador Judd is committed to strengthening the 200-year diplomatic relationship between the United States and Chile. He will prioritize promoting safety, strength, and prosperity, with a focus on collaborative efforts to curb illegal immigration, combat transnational criminal organizations, enhance border security, and increase trade and investment.

Ambassador Judd served as a United States Border patrol agent from 1997 until his retirement in 2023. Concurrently, he was elected as the president of the National Border Patrol Council from 2013 to 2024, where he advised administrations and lawmakers on public safety issues, developed policy, and advocated for the interests of rank-and-file agents. He has testified as an expert witness before the U.S. Congress on 19 separate occasions and is frequently consulted privately by policymakers on Capitol Hill.

Ambassador Judd first visited Chile in the 1990s on a service mission, where he developed proficiency in Spanish. A father and grandfather, Ambassador Judd is a long-time Arizona resident and is joined in Chile by his wife.
