Overview

Please join Council of the Americas at a welcome reception for Eduardo Medina Mora, the new ambassador of Mexico to the United States. Medina Mora presented his credentials in mid-January and has already embarked on a robust set of activities promoting the new bilateral agenda under President Enrique Peña Nieto.

Prior to assuming his duties as ambassador in Washington, Medina Mora has enjoyed a remarkable career including appointments as ambassador of Mexico to the United Kingdom, attorney general, and secretary for public security. He was also director general of the Center for Investigation and National Security (CISEN), and coordinated the legal advisory team to the Mexican government during the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) negotiations.
