Ana Prada, one of Uruguay's most emblematic singer-songwriters makes her Music of the Americas debut with two artists who embody both continuity and renewal in the country's tradition: Jacinta Berbejillo and Julieta Taramazzo. Together, the trio carries the tradition of Uruguayan music, its present vitality, and its projection toward the future.

The project includes a series of concerts and cultural activities in venues associated with Uruguayan embassies and cultural representations abroad, aiming to showcase the richness of the trio's repertoire and to strengthen artistic exchange. Each performance will act as a sonic embassy of Uruguay—a bridge connecting Uruguay with international audiences, reaffirming music as a living heritage and shared identity. This project brings together three generations and three visions of music, converging in a single, organic, and deeply authentic sound.

About the Artist

Ana Prada is one of the most distinctive voices in Uruguayan popular music. A singer-songwriter, composer, and cultural figure, she has spent over twenty years building a repertoire that blends poetic sensitivity with the strength of Río de la Plata’s popular song tradition. Her work reflects a deep connection with Uruguayan musical heritage while embracing contemporary explorations that open new and original paths.

Since the release of her debut solo album Soy Sola (2006), Prada has continued her coherent artistic path with Soy Pecadora (2009), Soy Otra (2013), and NO (2022). Her discography also includes Y Qué Más (2013) with Teresa Parodi, released by Sony Music. In her most recent production, she collaborated with renowned international artists such as Jorge Drexler and Natalia Oreiro. Beyond her songwriting, Ana Prada frequently collaborates with other artists. In 2023, she participated in the Essential Latin American Albums series at Buenos Aires’ Centro Cultural Kirchner, paying tribute to Chavela Vargas. She also appeared on the iconic Argentine TV program Encuentro en el Estudio, hosted by Lalo Mir, performing her repertoire alongside her band. In January 2024, her concert with Jorge Drexler at the Canelones Suena Bien Festival drew an audience of 40,000 people. Her music carries the mark of commitment—to feminism, LGBTIQ+ rights, freedom, and equality. Projects such as Canciones Yeguas (2016) with Pata Kramer and the series Ocho para el Ocho (2021) stand as milestones of her inseparable political and artistic voice.

Throughout her career, Prada has toured Uruguay, Argentina, and Europe, performing in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Stockholm, and Copenhagen, and appearing at major international festivals including CIRCULART (Colombia) and EXIB (Spain). Her albums and concerts have earned Gardel and Graffiti Award nominations, solidifying her status as one of the most representative artists of her generation. Above all, Ana Prada is a creator who embraces her time with courage and beauty. Her voice stands as an emblem of contemporary Uruguayan culture, representing a bridge to a future where music continues to be memory, struggle, and celebration.
