AS/COA seeks a Director for its Miami office. The director will lead the strategic vision, programming, and content/agenda development efforts for leadership initiatives and events in Miami and throughout Latin America. This role requires a dynamic leader capable of developing and executing high-level CEO forums, summits, private roundtables, and public policy programs, while cultivating senior executive relationships, driving member engagement and growth, leading strategic communications efforts, and representing the organization with corporate leaders, policymakers, media, and key stakeholders across the Americas.
Key Responsibilities
Program Strategy & Content Development
- Lead the development and execution of our annual programming calendar including CEO forums, summits, private roundtables, public events, and public policy-leadership programs in South Florida and across the Americas.
- Develop compelling themes, agendas, and discussion formats aligned with member priorities, regional trends, and institutional objectives.
- Conduct ongoing research on economic, business, and geopolitical developments impacting the Americas to develop the most compelling high-level programing for AS/COA.
- Identify emerging issues and shape conversations that position AS/COA as a leading platform for dialogue and thought leadership in the region.
Speaker & Stakeholder Engagement
- Identify, recruit, and manage relationships with high-profile speakers, including CEOs, senior government officials, investors, academics, and thought leaders.
- Prepare briefing materials, talking points, and session narratives to ensure substantive and engaging discussions.
- Serve as a senior liaison with member companies, strategic partners, PR agencies, and regional stakeholders throughout the planning process.
Institutional Leadership & External Relations
- Serve as a senior representative of AS/COA in Miami, cultivating relationships with corporate executives, policymakers, investors, and strategic partners.
- Strengthen AS/COA’s visibility, influence, and footprint throughout South Florida and Latin America.
- Work closely with membership, partnerships, government affairs, communications, and events teams to align programming with broader organizational priorities and sponsor objectives.
Member Engagement & Business Development
- Strengthen member retention and acquisition by developing programs that deliver strategic value, executive access, and high-level networking opportunities.
- Support sponsorship and revenue-generating efforts for the Miami office, including corporate engagement presentation decks, new member development & client sponsorship pitches for success.
- Build trusted relationships with senior executives and member representatives across industries.
Event Leadership & Communications
- Oversee content development and speaker management for in-person, virtual, and hybrid events.
- Moderate discussions and provide on-site leadership as needed during programs.
- Oversee the development of strategic communications and marketing materials for Miami-led initiatives, including invitations, event pages, digital campaigns, sales materials, and social media outreach.
- Coordinate with teams to ensure seamless event execution and audience engagement.
- Ensure all programs maintain a high standard of intellectual rigor, professionalism, and relevance.
- Supervise staff, fostering a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and high-performance team environment.
Skills and Qualifications
- 12-15 years of relevant experience with demonstrated success in strategic program development, senior-level engagement, and corporate communications, public affairs or client management.
- Proven experience engaging C-suite executives and government officials across the Americas.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English a must; strong Spanish a plus. Portuguese proficiency is a plus.
- A strong understanding of the Latin American business and policy landscape. Experience working with multinational and multilatina companies and/or major regional events is a plus.
- Experience in managing client relations or consulting experience with multinational or multilatina companies with significant business interests in Latin America.
- Degree in business, international relations, communications, public relations, journalism, or related field.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to support both the content and business development sides of the organization.
- Strong strategic thinking and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-focused environment. Occasional Travel.
AS/COA employees work on a hybrid schedule, with three days of the week spent in the office and two days remotely. Employees may be required to work onsite more than three days per week when programming demands.

Salary Range: $90k-$94k
