FOX Business: Eric Farnsworth, "This Is Clearly a Failure of the [Maduro] Regime"

"It's a man-made crisis and it is the largest and worst humanitarian crisis the Western Hemisphere has seen," said vice president of AS/COA.

Eric Farnsworth, vice president of AS/COA, spoke with FOX Business about the recent developments in Venezuela. Farnsworth spoke about the role of the United States. "You also heard the national security advisor today and secretary Pompeo as well talk about the additional options that are on the table, short of any military force, so I would anticipate if the effort today does not succeed there will be additional sanctions and I think additional pressure on the Maduro regime."

Farnsworth also commented on the supposed perception of the Venezuelan people toward the international community. "The Venezuelan people who support Guaidó are clearly appreciative of the steps that the United States and the international community have taken. We have to be a little bit careful, this is a Venezuelan initiative to restore Venezuela’s own constitutional order. The United States want to be supportive of that but does not want to get in front of that, this still has to be a Venezuelan initiative, it has been to this point and I think it will continue."
