CCTV: Farnsworth on the 2014 Colombian Presidential Election

As the second round of voting in Colombia approaches, public support for the two remaining presidential candidates remains close. COA's Eric Farnsworth speaks to CCTV about where President Juan Manuel Santos' and Óscar Iván Zuluaga's policy stances converge. "If you look at the macrolevel comparison of the two, they are really quite similar in some ways," he said. "They are both for financial orthodoxy, they're both for growing the economy...Now, they might do that dfferently. But at the macrolevel, this is almost the tyranny of small differences, which are always amplified in campaigns." He also touched on former President Álvaro Uribe's involvement in the campaign, as well as relations with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, Venezuela, and the United States.
