AS/COA held the third annual Women’s Hemispheric Network Conference in New York City. This year’s interactive conference featured prominent figures from the private and public sectors who will engage in topics such as leadership and women in the political sphere.

Marcela Drehmer

CFO, Odebrecht S.A.

Marcela Drehmer is the CFO of Odebrecht S.A. Before joining Odebrecht S.A. in July 2013, she was the CFO and vice president of Investor Relations at Braskem. Drehmer also served as Braskem’s acting director of finance and managed the Structured Finance Department. During this time, she was heavily involved in the consolidation process of Braskem. Drehmer’s first affiliation with Odebrecht S.A. came in 2001 when she worked with the company’s vice president of Investment.

Senator of Mexico and President of the Organismo Nacional de Mujeres Priistas

Diva Hadamira Gastélum Bajo is a senator from the Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI) in the Senate of Mexico and the president of the Organismo Nacional de Mujeres Priistas. She chairs the Commission on Gender Equality and is also a member of the Commissions for Human Rights and Constitutional Matters. Gastélum previously served as a federal deputy in the LIX and LXI Legislatures of the Mexican Congress from 2003 to 2006 and 2009 to 2012, respectively.

Maria Elena (Mel) Lagomasino is CEO and managing partner of WE Family Offices. In this role, she engages client families to build their wealth enterprises and provides the support and control they need to manage their wealth as a business enterprise. Before founding WE, Lagomasino served as CEO of GenSpring Family Offices. Prior to that, she served as chairman and CEO of JP Morgan Private Bank following the Chase-JP Morgan merger. Susan Segal was elected president and CEO of the Americas Society and Council of the Americas in August 2003 after working in the private sector with Latin America and other emerging markets for over 30 years. A passionate supporter of Latin America, she joined the organizations to implement a new strategic plan to renew and return the Society and Council to their historic position. Prior to her current position, she was a founding partner of her own investment and advisory group focused primarily on Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic sector.

Gillian Tett is the US managing editor for the Financial Times where she is also a columnist covering a range of economic, financial, political, and social issues throughout the globe.
