Gillian Tett is the US managing editor for the Financial Times where she is also a columnist covering a range of economic, financial, political, and social issues throughout the globe. From 2010 to 2012, she severed as the Financial Times’ US managing editor, leading the editorial development of the paper’s US edition and of US news on FT.com. Tett has received several awards including the Society of American Business Editors and Writers award for best feature article for "Madoff spins his story" in 2012. She is the author of the New York Times bestseller Fool’s Gold: How Unrestrained Greed Corrupted a Dream, Shattered Global Markets, and Unleashed a Catastrophe, and Saving the Sun: A Wall Street Gamble to Rescue Japan from its Trillion Dollar Meltdown. Tett’s upcoming book will look at the global economy and financial system through the lens of cultural anthropology. She holds a PhD in Social Anthropology from Cambridge University.
