Karen Toulon

New York Bureau Chief, Bloomberg News

Karen Toulon is the New York bureau chief at Bloomberg News. As bureau chief, she works across news teams to enhance Bloomberg's coverage of local, national and international events and she manages efforts to bring business, government, arts, and education newsmakers to the bureau for meetings and interviews. Prior to her appointment as bureau chief in 2007, Toulon was an editor and team leader at Bloomberg Television. She joined Bloomberg News in December 1999 after positions at Reuters, CNBC, and CBS Radio Network. At Reuters, Toulon was the managing editor - Americas for Reuters Financial TV and deputy managing editor for Reuters America. At CNBC, she served as one of two supervising producers for daytime TV after many years of line-producing. As an associate producer at CBS Radio Network, Toulon was part of the launching team of Business Update, a daily business news broadcast produced by CBS for American Public Radio. She graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in English Literature and she earned a Master’s degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism.
