Remembering Luis Miguel Castillo, Chairman of Grupo Mariposa
AS/COA is saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Castillo, who was awarded the 28th BRAVO Visionary Business Leader of the Year award.
On October 20, Mr. Castillo participated in our 2023 COA Symposium in Miami, where he spoke about the growth and expansion of Grupo Mariposa. He was also awarded the BRAVO Visionary Business Leader of the Year award at our 28th Bravo Business Awards ceremony.
"Luis Miguel was honored for his great entrepreneurial spirit and strong commitment to driving business growth and social impact in Central America and beyond," said AS/COA's President and CEO Susan Segal. "Not only was he an inspiring leader, but also a devoted family man whose work giving back to the community was a shining example for all."
Mr. Castillo's humility and leadership were on display as he accepted his BRAVO award.
“Empowerment needs to be not at the top, but everywhere," he said. "So I hope this can be a great inspiration for any company in Latin America … As business people we can think big, and if we have a good plan and the right people on board, the rest will come.”
