2016 Santiago Conference: Chile’s Economy within a Global Context

The April 28 conference will examine Chile's economic and growth prospects, as well as its trade alliances.

New York, April 22, 2016Americas Society/Council of the Americas, in partnership with Chile’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chile’s Ministry of Finance, will hold the eleventh edition of its annual Santiago conference, this year entitled: “Chile’s Economy within a Global Context”. The event, which takes place Thursday, April 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., will convene top government officials and private-sector leaders to discuss Chile's economic forecast and growth prospects as well as the country's alliances with regional and global trade partners. This conference will be webcast live.

Local and international panelists at the conference will include: Heraldo Muñoz, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chile; Rodrigo Váldes, Minister of Finance of Chile; Luis Felipe Céspedes, Minister of Economy, Development, and Tourism of Chile; Rodrigo Vergara, President, Central Bank; Judy Brown, Head of External Affairs, Rio Tinto; Oliver Flögel, General Manager, Microsoft Chile; Patricio Jottar, General Manager, CCU; and Susan Segal, President and CEO, Americas Society/Council of the Americas.

This conference is organized in collaboration with Agencia de Promoción de la Inversión Extranjera, Columbia Global Center, Endeavor Chile, Fundación Imagen de Chile, Grupo Liderazgo, Harvard University’s David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies, and Sociedad de Fomento Fabril (SOFOFA).
