2014 Latin American Cities Conferences – Colombia in the Eyes of Wall Street

AS/COA's June 11 conference will analyze the country's economic outlook and growth prospects as well as the next presidential administration's challenges.

New York, June 2, 2014—Colombia is outpacing many of its Latin American counterparts in terms of economic growth. According to Colombia’s Central Bank, the country grew an estimated 4.8 percent in the first quarter of this year while the government projects a 5 percent expansion for 2014 overall. Job creation was vigorous and unemployment declined to 9.7 percent in 2013—the lowest level in a decade, according to the International Monetary Fund.
