On February 12, Americas Society's Visual Arts program hosted the symposium "The Invention of the Modern Domestic Space in Brazil, Mexico, and Venezuela: Design, Art, and Architecture, 1940-1978." Three panel discussions covered the current state of Latin American design, the influence of the home on the field, and case studies on exciting design initiatives in Brazil, Mexico, and Venezuela.

In this video, Americas Society's Visual Arts Director Gabriela Rangel gave welcoming remarks. Artist Jill Magid followed with a video, Tracing Albers’ Chair, to kick off the discussion.
