Rodrigo Valdés
Rodrigo Valdés is the minister of finance of Chile. Previously, he was chairman of the Board of Directors and of the Executive Committee of BancoEstado. Valdés worked as chief economist for the Andean Region and Argentina at BTG Pactual investment bank from 2013 to 2014. He also worked at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as deputy director of the European Department and the Americas Department from 2009 to 2012, where he was also head of Mission for the United States. He has also been the chief economist for Latin America at Barclays Capital, research manager and chief economist for the Central Bank of Chile, and senior advisor to the minister of Finance of Chile. Valdés has an MBA and degree in economics from the Universidad de Chile as well as a PhD. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Rodrigo Valdés es ministro de hacienda de Chile. Previamente, fue presidente de la junta directiva y del comité ejecutivo del BancoEstado. Valdés trabajó como economista jefe de la Región Andina y Argentina en el banco de inversiones BTG Pactual desde el 2013 al 2014. También se desempeñó como subdirector del Departamento Europeo y del Departamento de las Américas para el Fondo Monetario Internacional (FMI) de 2009 a 2007, donde también fue jefe de misión para los Estados Unidos. También sostuvo roles como economista jefe de América Latina en Barclays Capital, gerente de investigación y economista jefe en el Banco Central de Chile y asesor superior para ministro de Finanzas de Chile. Valdés cuenta con un MBA y una licenciatura en economía de la Universidad de Chile. También cuenta con un PhD en economía del Instituto de Tecnología de Massachussetts.
