Merval Pereira is a columnist for O Globo and a commentator for CBN and Globo News. He is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Literature and the Brazilian Academy of Philosophy. In 2009, he was honored with the Maria Moors Cabot Award from the University of Columbia, one of the most important journalism awards. He is a member of the Board of Visitors of the University of Stanford’s John S. Knight Fellowships.
