Mauro Leos is associate managing director for the Americas at Moody's Investors Service. With extensive experience in the region, he has been a senior sovereign credit analyst with Moody’s since 1996. Leos is lead sovereign analyst for Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Peru, and Colombia as well as other Central American and Caribbean credits. Prior to joining Moody's, he was managing director for Latin America at Wharton Econometrics in Philadelphia, where he was in charge of the Latin American Forecasting Service. Before that, Leos was director of operations at CIEMEX-WEFA, the Mexican Service at Wharton Econometrics. He completed graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin in the areas of international finance and econometrics. Leos conducted his undergraduate work at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores in Monterrey, Mexico.
