Juan Manuel Urtubey
Juan Manuel Urtubey is serving his third term as governor of the province of Salta in Argentina, a position he assumed in 2007. Previously, he served for two terms in the Argentine National Congress from 1999 to 2007. During that time, Urtubey was the president of the Bloque Justicialista and president of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs. He was also a member of a wide array of Committees: Budget and Finance, Communications and Information, Technology, Sports, Justice, Petitions, Powers, and Regulations, Drug Addiction and Drug Trafficking Prevention, and the Welfare and Social Security Committee. Urtubey served as provincial deputy from 1997 to 1999 and secretary of state in the province of Salta from 1995 to 1996. He received his law degree from the Universidad de Buenos Aires.
Juan Manuel Urtubey es el gobernador de la provincia de Salta desde el 2007. Antes de ser electo gobernador por segunda vez, fue diputado nacional por dos períodos consecutivos del Congreso Nacional Argentino, electo en 1997. Durante este tiempo, Urtubey representaba el bloque Justicialista y era presidente de la Comisión de Asuntos Constitucionales. Además, fue integrante de diversas comisiones: Presupuesto y Hacienda, Comunicaciones e Informática, Deportes, Justicia, Peticiones, Poderes y Reglamentos, Legislación Penal, Prevención de Adicciones y Narcotráfico, Previsión y Seguridad Social. Asimismo, Urtubey fue diputado provincial de la provincia de Salta en el año 1997 y jefe de gabinete en 1995. Recibió su título de abogado de la Universidad de Buenos Aires.
