Felipe Larraín Bascuñán
Felipe Larraín Bascuñán is the minister of Finance of Chile. Prior to being appointed minister by President Sebastian Piñera, he was a visiting professor at Harvard University’s Robert Kennedy’s Chair in Latin American Studies and a professor at the Catholic University of Chile’s Institute of Economics. Throughout his career, he has published over 10 books and 120 articles on Chile, Latin America, the U.S., Europe and Asia. His book Macroeconomía en la Economía Global, co-authored with Jeffrey Sachs, was translated to several languages and is now one of the most popular macroeconomics books published in Spanish. Larraín has been an advisor to the governments of Canada, Costa Rica, Venezuela and Peru, among others, and is also a member of the International Advisors Board of the Asian Development Bank. Larraín obtained his Business Administration degree from Catholic University of Chile and his PhD in economics from Harvard University.
S.E. Felipe Larraín Bascuñán es ministro de hacienda de Chile. Antes de ser nombrado por el presidente Sebastián Piñera, fue Robert F. Kennedy Visiting Professor of Latin American Studies en Harvard University y profesor en el Instituto de Economía de la Universidad Católica de Chile. A lo largo de su carrera, ha publicado más de 10 libros y 120 artículos sobre Chile, América Latina, los EE.UU., Europa y Asia. Su libro Macroeconomía en la Economía Global, co-escrito con Jeffrey Sachs, ha sido traducido a varios idiomas y es ahora uno de los libros de macroeconomía más populares publicados en español. El Ministro Larraín ha sido asesor de los gobiernos de Canadá, Costa Rica, Venezuela y Perú, entre otros, y también es miembro de la Junta de Asesores Internacionales del Banco Asiático de Desarrollo. Es licenciado en Ingeniería Comercial de la Universidad Católica de Chile y obtuvo su Doctorado en Economía de Harvard University.
