Overview

Please join the Council of the Americas for a panel discussion with expert economists on Latin America’s current financial landscape.

Latin America has experienced strong growth over the past decade supported by a robust commodities sector responding to the unprecedented economic development in China and other large emerging markets. Now that China is slowing and the commodities sector is softening, where is Latin America headed economically? What are the main drivers of growth and most promising sectors for investment? What can we anticipate for the balance of this year and into 2015?

Speakers:

  • Charles Collyns, Managing Director and Chief Economist, Institute of International Finance
  • Ramón Aracena, Chief Economist, Latin American Department, Institute of International Finance
  • Inés Bustillo, Director, Washington Office, United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC)
