To commemorate the fifth anniversary of the U.S.-Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement, Americas Society/Council of the Americas and ProColombia will host a panel discussion on investment opportunities in post-conflict Colombia. Speakers will address the bilateral relationship, trade priorities, export diversification, and the ongoing peace process.

Julio Babecki

Partner, L Catterton

Julio Babecki is a partner at L Catterton focused on Latin America. Previously, he was a partner at L Capital where he oversaw the firm’s activities in Spain, Portugal, and Scandinavia. Prior to joining L Capital, Babecki held multiple positions in investment banking, including managing director of corporate finance Spain at BNP Paribas and co-head of Middle Market M&A for Europe, Middle East, and Africa at Merrill Lynch. He received a degree in European business administration from ICADE and Ecole Superiure de Commerce de Reims.

Terry Dale

President and CEO, USTOA

Terry Dale serves as president of U.S. Tour Operators Association since 2011. In 2013, he assumed the additional role of CEO for the association. Previously, Dale was president and CEO of Cruise Lines International Association. He also served as vice president of the NYC Convention and Visitors Bureau and president of the New England Society of Convention and Visitors Bureaus. Dale has also served on the board of directors of the U.S. Travel Association, Hospitality Sales and Market Association International, and Visit Florida.

Felipe Jaramillo

President, ProColombia

Felipe Jaramillo serves as president of ProColombia since 2016. In 2009, he founded NeuroFocus Colombia, the first Latin American company specializing in consumer neuroscience, which was later acquired by Nielsen in 2013, a leading global marketing company, where he then led several projects serving as director for Latin America. Between 2004 and 2009, he served in management positions in communications and advertising at J. Walter Thompson, BBDO Sancho Colombia, and Havas.

Thomas McDonald

Managing Partner and Co-Founder, Jaguar Growth Partners

Thomas McDonald is managing partner and cofounder of Jaguar Growth Partners. Prior to the creation of Jaguar, McDonald was chief strategic officer of Equity International. He also served as a director for several portfolio companies including Gafisa, BR Malls, Tenda Parque Arauco Crédito Imobilario, Bracor, and Brazilian Finance and Real Estate. McDonald graduated from the University of Notre Dame and received an MBA. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
