Previously, he was head of Latin America economic research at IDEAglobal Inc., where he conducted in-depth economic analysis on the region. Professor of Political Science and International Affairs, Columbia University

María Victoria Murillo is a professor of political science and international and public affairs. Her research on distributive politics in Latin America has covered labor politics and labor regulations, public utility reform, education reform, and economic policy more generally. Her work on political parties analyzes both their coalitional and policy implications as well as their linkages with voters in new democracies.

Roberto Sifón Arévalo is managing director and lead analytical manager of Sovereigns and Public Finance Ratings in Latin America for S&P Global Ratings. He joined the group in 2003 and has since monitored sovereign credits, regional and local governments, and multilateral financial institutions in the region.
