Digital & Data Governance Series

Overview

The increasing adoption and application of emerging technologies in the Americas have generated numerous opportunities and challenges, transforming industries and societies across the region. In response to these advancements, Americas Society/Council of the Americas (AS/COA) convenes key stakeholders from a wide range of sectors at the forefront of technological developments to collaboratively define a path forward that ensures the responsible integration of emerging technologies, such as AI, and the implementation of data governance and regulatory measures within the region. This concerted effort takes shape in the Digital & Data Governance Series and aims to leverage the benefits of emerging technologies while proactively minimizing potential risks.

As part of the Digital & Data Governance Series, in 2023, AS/COA hosted three virtual programs and traveled to Mexico, Brazil and Peru to host in-person events on topics like the regulation of AI in the region and technological advancements to achieve higher yields, sustainable development, and food security.
