Video: Cuba After Fidel

The Cuban Communist Party's Sixth Congress, held on April 16, was "a big deal in the sense that it did confirm a number of economic reforms, but politically it mounted to nothing," says AS/COA's Christopher Sabatini on Business News Network's Headline.

The Cuban Communist Party's recently held congress is approving "over 300 hundred economic reforms. The idea is to start to get small business going, and to spark some entrepreneurship," says AS/COA's Christopher Sabatini.

It was "a really a big deal in the sense that it did confirm a number of the economic reforms that Raúl Castro had announced over a year ago, but politically or in terms of indicating sort of the overall shift in the island or even a political transition, it mounted to nothing. In fact I think it got far more attention than it deserved,” he added.
