Audio: Christopher Sabatini on U.S.-Cuba Ties

On WYNC’s The Brian Lehrer Show, Sabatini spoke about the Obama administration’s decision to normalize relations with Cuba.

On December 17, President Barack Obama announced that the United States would normalize U.S.-Cuba relations, as well as the release of the U.S. contractor Alan Gross. AS/COA’s Christopher Sabatini spoke on WNYC’s The Brian Lehrer Show about the flaws under existing policy. "No country has undergone a democratic transition that has been under as tight an embargo as Cuba is," Sabatini explained. "There is no real evidence that Cuba is sponsoring terrorism or is a geostrategic threat."

Obama's speech begins at 4:00; Sabatini's analysis begins at 9:17.
