Video: A Conversation with Gabriel Chalita, Congressman and Mayoral Candidate, São Paulo

Thursday, March 8, 2012

AS/COA held a discussion on Brazil’s education agenda and its potential to further social equity in the country with Gabriel Chalita, congressman for the state of São Paulo.

As an aspiring candidate for São Paulo’s mayoral elections in October and former secretary of state for education, Chalita will discuss the recent developments and shortcomings of education in Brazil. Within the country, São Paulo’s education system is front row center. With over 11 million inhabitants, São Paulo is one of the most populous and fastest-growing cities in the world, and the development of its school systems heavily influences nationwide education policy.
