"It's not enough for journalists just to report on the facts anymore. Now we also have to report on what's false," said Laura Bonilla. The AFP journalist joined a panel of fellow Latin American reporters and press freedom experts held by Young Professionals of the Americas (YPA) and Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) on October 1 at AS/COA's New York headquarters to discuss the attack on press freedom in the region in a critical election year. CPJ's Carlos Martínez de la Serna and Newsweek's Robert Valencia also participated in the conversation moderated by award-winning Colombian journalist Adriana La Rotta, who is a senior director at AS/COA.
