CCTV: Eric Farnsworth on Mexico's Economy in 2013

Wednesday, December 26, 2012

In a CCTV interview, COA's Eric Farnsworth says that Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, who took office in December 2012 "is off to a strong start." He notes that Peña Nieto has "put people in his cabinet who are strong voices for economic orthodoxy, sound management of the economy, proven managers of the economy, and also in terms of foreign policy." But Farnsworth also cautions about high expectations facing the new leader, including an ambitious reform agenda on challenging issues ranging from energy to education.
