Overview

The Council of the Americas will host a private meeting with Dulcidio De La Guardia, Panama’s minister of Economy and Finance.

The nexus between North and South America has played an integral, even outsized, role in global economics and finance because of its geographic positioning. As new economic agendas in the hemisphere take hold, Panama’s offering as a banking hub and conduit for trade is only likely to amplify in importance. Its banking sector will play a key part in cracking down on illicit finance and a more active Pan-Pacific agenda of trade and energy flows will increase the productivity of its service sector for East-West commerce.

Please join us for an important discussion on Panama’s efforts to strengthen financial transparency in the hemisphere and advance the global trade agenda.
