The investments include $938 million for expanding the metro system in Fortaleza, the state capital; $140 million to build an integration system between the Port of Pecém and the Castanhão Dam; and $72.7 million to construct homes for Fortaleza’s low income families.

The Fortaleza metro project foresees the construction of 7.4 miles of the East Line, including the purchase of 20 trains and the construction of 12 stations, both above and below ground. The integration system between the port and the dam seeks to create canals, bringing water to 4.2 million people. The final project will complete the construction of 1,710 homes in the Vila do Mar area, removing families from high-risk areas and providing them with new homes. The project also includes the construction of a sanitation system and roads in the new neighborhood.
