Video: Panel - Latin America and the Global Economy

Panelists examined challanges facing increased trade in the region and how public safety affects Latin America's economic growth. Acting Secretary of Commerce Rebecca Blank warned that challenges facing Latin American trade include protectionist barriers preventing economic integration, as well as long wait times at ports and borders. The World Bank’s Sri Mulyani Indrawati said that crime and violence is one area that “is always holding [Latin American countries] back.”
