AS/COA President and CEO Susan Segal opened the 2015 Latin American Cities Conference in Buenos Aires, kicking off a series of remarks exploring Argentina’s development opportunities and challenges. First, Carlos R. de la Vega highlighted the importance of commerce and services, saying that they make up 63 per cent of Argentina’s GDP. Horacio Rodriguez Larreta spoke about Buenos Aires progress and his vision for the city’s future. “The city should be a center of innovation and creativity,” he said, referring to his goals to improve public transportation. Lastly, Aníbal Fernández explained Argentina’s economic growth over the past year while focusing on the need to improve social inclusion.
