CCTV: Farnsworth on CELAC Summit

On January 28, heads of state from across Latin America gathered in San Jose, Costa Rica, to commence the third annual Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) Summit. In an interview with CCTV, COA Vice President Eric Farnsworth spoke about the summit’s relevance to the region and noted which issues were on the event's agenda, including the effects that slowing economies could have on the Latin America’s middle classes. “There is a bit of economic fear beginning to seep into the region that could have political repercussions,” Farnsworth said, adding that strategies on how to regenerate economic growth would have to be a key topic at the summit.
