Overview

How do policies affect women's economic opportunities? How do women’s rights compare to those of men? Where have they changed over the last two years? The World Bank and International Finance Corporation (IFC) have sought to quantify this in a report on Women, Business and the Law, which presents indicators based on laws and regulations affecting women’s prospects as entrepreneurs and employees.

Join us for a roundtable discussion in Miami on the latest report, Women, Business and the Law 2014: Removing Restrictions To Enhance Gender Equality. A representative from the World Bank/IFC will present findings from the report as they relate to Latin America, and local business leaders will serve as commentators on the data before we open for an active Q&A discussion.

Speakers:

  • Paula Tavares, Legal Analyst, Women, Business and the Law Project, The World Bank
  • Alexandra Aguirre, Shareholder, Greenberg Traurig
  • Carmen González-Sanfeliu, Regional Vice President, Latin America & Caribbean, Intelsat
  • Ana Salas Siegel, SVP and Deputy General Counsel, Fox International Channels

This program is open to AS/COA and YPA Miami members, and special guests by invitation.
